What is electronic commerce (e-commerce);

According to ECA (Electronic Commerce Association): «Electronic commerce (e-commerce) covers any form of business or administrative transaction or information exchange, which was performed using any technology IT and telecommunications.”

Therefore, the term Ecommerce stands for each completed transaction, undertaken solely on an electronic level, via the Internet, telephone and fax, without requiring the physical presence of the parties. To carry out such a transaction used complex programming mechanisms and the appropriate software, which allows the Electronic Data Interchange (Electronic Data Interchange- EDI) between the two counterparties.

E-commerce is divided into indirect and direct. Indirect ecommerce is used for electronic ordering of tangible goods that can be delivered only by traditional means such as mail. While direct ecommerce includes ordering, payment and delivery of intangible goods and services directly from the Internet in digital form.
